It was a hot mid summer day in Taos yesterday(August, 6th 2011).
Since this old church is located next to the main highway, although it is easy to pass by to those who are not familiar because one can see only the backside of the churach from the highway, I always drop by and take a few pictures of it.
I believe this is a statue of San Franceco de Assiss.
Impressive sideview of the church. Construction started in 1772 by Spanish mission of San Francisco de Asis and cmpleted by 1816. Typical New Mexico construction method was used with sun dried mud with straw "Adobe" bricks.
